Dear Democrat

We are your local Democratic party, and like many organizations, we too are suffering from the effects of the downturn in the economy. We are calling on our loyal supporters because we are struggling to deliver the same level of services that have produced Democratic victories in the past. However, we will NOT ask you to attend another high dollar fundraising event this Fall. Instead, we are asking you to donate to the Capital Campaign to support our outreach efforts to Democrats in Montgomery County.
Campaign for Database Up-grades & Increased Outreach Capabilities
We have an immediate need for resources to support a modern database and communications system. Our database has been our resource to rally volunteers and generate support for elected officials at events, such as town hall meetings. We rely on the same tools to help you stay informed on the real facts about climate change solutions and health care reform. We are facing a well
organized effort to dismantle the Democratic agenda. In order to successfully combat the negative propaganda, we need to improve our network’s outreach capabilities. To do that, we need your help.2009 Capital Campaign Goal
Our goal is to raise $20,000 during the Fall/Winter 2009 period. When we consider the age and capability of our database and the condition of the equipment that we have, we recognize that we must modernize to surpass Republican attacks on the Party during Campaign 2010. Your donation will help us to meet our ultimate goal and enable us to succeed.
Please Become a Democrat of the Day
The Capital Campaign will run over the course of three months. During this period, we are inviting individuals to become a
Democrat of the Day by donating $50 or more. Donors will be honored in our monthly Montgomery Democrat newsletter by having their names affixed to one day of the newsletter calendar for each $50 donation. Just $50 from 400 Democrats will help us to reach our goal and secure much needed upgrades.Role of the Party
The Montgomery County Democratic Central Committee is the governing body of the Democratic Party in Montgomery County. The Party is responsible for staffing the headquarters office in Kensington, Maryland, registering voters and reaching out to new
‐and‐absentee voters. The Party also is tasked with get out the vote activities, such as rides to the polls and organizing the volunteers that knock on doors to generate Democratic turnout on Election Day.We are calling on you to help us provide services to Democrats like you across Montgomery County. Will you help us to obtain the tools we need?
