The Montgomery County Democratic Central Committee (MCDCC) has an open seat for a male/non-binary member representing Maryland Legislative District 9A. The successful candidate will complete the unexpired term ending in November 2026.

Eligibility
Candidates for this position must:
- Identify as male or non-binary.
- As of the date of the appointment, be registered to vote as a member of the Democratic Party in District 9A.
Gender balance rules dictate that each legislative district’s two MCDCC members may not be of the same gender.
MCDCC Member Responsibilities
The Montgomery County Democratic Central Committee is a group of 26 volunteer members elected to 4-year terms or appointed mid-term to fill a vacancy, representing the 9 state legislative districts within the county and the county at large. The MCDCC is responsible for leading and organizing the day-to-day operations of the local Democratic Party, as well as nominating replacements to the state legislature if an elected Democratic member from the county leaves office before the completion of their term.
As a member of the Central Committee, you will attend monthly MCDCC meetings and quarterly meetings of the state Central Committee. Members are responsible for planning, leading, and participating in Democratic Party activities such as fundraising, outreach, community service, voter registration, informing voters during elections, and serving at the polls.
